              Turtle
            Winter
              Project
              2008 / 2009

            This
winter we have a new turtle in the schedule. Our current felt so
              alone in the bag.
            It
should be in every case, a Turtle of the older generation.
            The
new turtle from Peter Lynn have not such a nice, well-shaped body
              like the old models.
            At
the material dealer of our confidence, we had already ordered last
              year the ripstop nylon.
            This
new turtle should created in the colors of purple, wine, whiskey,
              magenta and yellow.
            Dug
out the templates from the basement and play the guessing game.
            Where
the pieces come together? What is the arrangement of the colors?
Where are we sewn again the reinforcements? And now we are able
              to get started.
            A
total of 104 pieces had to cut out.

            First
cut out the three largest parts.

            Then,
ten five-and six-corner cut out and sewn together.

            Then
cut another 40 side parts, sewn in and the top and bottom of the
              turtle was already finished.
            An
air inlet sewing in. A valve cover built behind it.
            Top
and bottom of the turtle are made of 68 parts.

            Cut
as a next step his arms and legs and the rump with the application.

            The
legs consist of four parts and the patches are sewn with satin ribbon.

            On
              the long side a strip of 100 x 15 cm (3,2 x 0,5 ft) sewn tapering
to zero. This strip is located outside later.
            The
              arms are also produced.
            In
the arm side comes to the short side a strip of 196 x 48 cm (6,4
x 1,57 ft). This strip is located inside later.
            Every
50 cm (1,6 feet) is an inner cord of 50 cm (1,6 ft) length. 10 scale
              points outside.
            The
whole sewn to the finished top and bottom with a 15 cm (0,5 ft)
              wide peripheral strip.
            This
peripheral strip narrows in the arms and legs down to zero. In the
rump, we even sew a zipper for venting.
            The
head is made of 20 parts. The back of the head even has a 50 cm
              (1,6 ft) long zipper.

            Head
              without eyes

            Air
              inlet at the mouth

            Then
head sewn the last, reinforced at critical points and the turtle
              was ready for internal work.
            All
inner cords have a length of 1,50 meters (5 ft). Next to the edge
the cords are only 1 meter (3 ft) long.
            Then
another 43 scale points were attached and with approximately 120
meters (393 ft) bridle lines be linked.
